 Krillin- is a bald headed monk with 6 dots on his head and no nose what-so-ever. He is the strongest human alive but one of the weaker fighters. He may not be the strongest fighter but he has the biggest heart of them all. And the biggest sense of humor as well. He provides the shows humor side to it. He and Goku have been friends since the show pretty much began. They both trained under Master Roshi as children but Goku surpassed Krillin in power. Krillin is friends with most everyone on the show (well most everyone, Vegeta and Piccolo are hard to win over as friends). He and andriod 18 marry and have a beautiful daughter named Marron (just like his girlfriend). Krillin fades away from the show in GT the reason being that he now has a family and spends more time with them.
 Goku- is the main character, his name is based on the Chinese mythological character of the same name. He used to have a tail, which, at the sight of a full moon, transforms him into a giant were-ape beast (ala King Kong, only meaner). He is of a race called Sayains who go around conquering planets and dealing them. He strives on challenging fights but has a heart of gold. In the beginning, he starts out as a naive boy but soon grows up to be a good man as he is around with civilizations more. He always trains and his training also always get him far in terms of strength, speed, and endurance. He is the first to achieve the Super Sayain form, a form which changes a few properties of your original body and form and raises your strength encredibly.
 Gohan- is Goku's son later in the manga series. This Gohan has the blood of his mother, Chichi, and has the abilities of his father, Goku, and a little more. He doesn't like fighting and despises those who hurts his friends, family, and nature. He has a similar kind heart that his father possesses. When he was born, he also has a tail, until it was taken off to be safe. He has trained with Piccolo after his father's death and idolizes him as his mentor. He has also trained with Krillin for a while and with his father for a year. Gohan's half-breed traits enables him to become more powerful than his father. His anger produces incredible power and speed when known how to use it. It was first seen when Gohan rammed into Raditz' armor to create a crack which helps Piccolo kill him. He is the first one to learn the form called Super Saiyan 2, the form beyond the default Super Saiyan form.
 Vegeta- is one of the main characters in DBZ. He turns out to be one of Earths greatest challenges until Goku gets there and fights his hardest and is the victor. As current events cause Goku and Vegeta to meet again during the Namek/Freiza saga, they team up and destroy Freiza together (they even get slightly along ). Soon, they learn how to fuse to become Vegetto and Gogeta. But Vegeta will only fuse with Goku when he is near death, because he cant stand the thought of being a part of Goku's body.
 Future Trunks- first appeared at the end of episode 104 (The Mysterious Youth) to challenge Frieza and King Cold. Trunks easily defeated Frieza with one swipe of his sword. Trunks tried to be fair with King Cold, he evens lends him his sword but Trunks still kills King Cold. Trunks came from the future to Warn Goku and the Z Warriors about the Androids that come to earth to try to kill all mankind. He ends up being a good help to the Z fighters, and with the strength he gains can even fix his own time.
 Goten- the second child of Goku already showed his talent at a young age. He was able to turn Super Saiyin at the age of seven completely surprising his older brother. Goten and Vegeta's son, Trunks, are best friends. In the fusion of Goten and Trunks, Gotenks, they were even able to become Super Saiyain 3. Unfortunately, due to his lack of discipline, Goten did not maintain his ability and had to be "forced" to join the World Martial Arts Tournament by his father.
 Chibi Trunks- like Goten, he was able to achieve Super Saiyan at a very young age. Due to the lack of available warriors, he performed a fusion with Goten into Gotenks to battle Majin Buu. He is the annoyingly obnoxious son of Vegeta and Bulma. He was often trained by Vegeta, which explains his personality.
 Piccolo- is the single offspring of Piccolo Daimao. He had the same intentions as his father, which was basically to take over planet earth. However, when Radditz was approaching earth, he and Goku knew that they have team up for their own good. After Radditz was killed, Piccolo took Gohan and trained him in a deserted area. Piccolo discovered Gohans hidden power. At the same time, being around Gohan made Piccolo a good person. During the battle with Frieza, Piccolo fused with Nail to become even more powerful. Even though he could defeat Frieza, he was able to save Gohan and Krillin from fighting him. During the Android Saga, Piccolo re-fused with Kami to become the original being. Piccolo has helped the z fighters throughout the entire dragonball series.
 Tien- is the telepathic, three-eyed friend of Goku. He is very strong physically. He is involved in all of the major battles through out DB, but doesn't do much of anything fighting wise in Dragonball Z and GT. Some of his abilities range from solarflare to tri-form. He is originally an assassin out to kill Goku, but later becomes his friend. He is the strongest human up until about the Namek saga (When he dies Krillin surpasses him while on Namek).
 Chaotzu- is a little mime look alike. He has strong psychic powers but other than that this guy is no use out on the battle field. Infact he fought his last fight clear back in the Freeza Saga against one of the Ginyu force members.
 Yamcha- is a good friend of Goku since they have known each other back in dragonball. He met Goku and Bulma when he was a desert Bandit robbing people when they came by. He was going to rob Goku but Bulma was with him and he has a fear of girls. When he finds out that that they are looking for the dragonballs he comes with them. He loses his fear of girls and went out with Bulma for a while. Hes not nearly as good of a fighter as Goku of many or the other z fighters but still has good fighting ability. And he always has a cat with him named Puar.
 Frieza- is one of the most powerful fighters in the universe. He runs a group of criminals that destroy all life on a planet and then sells that planet to the highest bidder. He has 4 transformations the higher it goes the more powerful it is. He is the one responsible for the destruction of Planet Vegeta because of his fear that one day a sayain would rise up and defeat him. He had gone to planet Namek to wish for immortality but he was too late and fought Gohan Krillin, Piccolo, and Goku. He killed Krillin and thats what made Goku a SS, and Goku deafeated Frieza Easily.
 Cell- was created after gathering the cells of most of the greatest fighters of the universe, Dr. Gero inputted them into his computer to create the ultimate android. This process was taking far too long so he let his computer generate his great android. After many years, even after Gero had died, his computer had finally completed the android and named it Cell and told it that to become perfect he must absorb both #17 and #18. Since Trunks had already killed them, Cell travelled back in time to find them. After absorbing them and countless humans, Cell finally becomes perfect and holds a Tournament, his Cell Games where he must fight all the world's most powerful fighters. After enraging Gohan into SS 2, Cell is quickly and easily killed, but subsequently taking Goku with him.
 Brolly- the legendary Super Sayain exhibits tremendous power, even as an infant. When Planet Vegeta is destroyed by Frieza, it is this power that kept him and his father alive. Before his home planet's destruction, he is traumatized by the constant crying of his crib mate, Goku, and develops an instinctual hatred of him.Years later, Brolly begins his rampage on the universe under his father's command. In order to divert suspicion, Brolly's father actually gets the help of Vegeta and the rest of the Z fighters to find the cause of all this chaos. Brolly's grudge against Goku reveals the plot however, and after the battle Brolly is thought to be destroyed. However, his hatred is strong enough to allow Brolly to come to Planet Earth in movie #10, where he is finally killed. He makes a THIRD appearance when he is cloned in movie #11, and is transformed into a large green blob.
 Raditz- is Goku's older brother. He came to Earth to see whether Goku had completed his mission of conquering the planet. Angry and intolerant, Raditz can't understand why it has taken his brother so long to destroy the helpless humans. When Raditz learns Goku had lost his Saiyan "programming" as a child and was now Earth's defender, he kidnaps Gohan with the threat of killing him if Goku doesn't bring him dead humans. Goku and Piccolo go after Raditz and successfully pin him once. But ruthless like all Saiyans, Raditz plays on Goku's emotions and lies to his confused brother to avoid being destroyed. The minute he is saved however, he instantly turns on Goku. Raditz is killed when Goku sacrifices himself by holding Raditz from behind while Piccolo eliminates them both with a single blast.
 Chi-Chi- is mother to Gohan and Goten and the wife of Goku. She feels very strongly about Gohan's studies and will stop at nothing to get him to continue his work; she mainly spends her time worrying about Gohan's academics. No matter how powerful Goku becomes, he still is very subserviant (look it up) to his worrisome wife.
 Bulma- has been around from the beginning. In Dragon Ball, she was an annoying teenager with blue hair. She was immature, emotional, self-centered, impatient, argumentative, boy-crazy and given to fits of hysteria. Now, she's now a woman with a lot of the same traits, but the team would never get along with out her. Bulma is a mechanical genius who can operate and fix anything. She also takes the lead in finding a space ship to go to Namek and joins Krillin and Gohan in the journey
 Buu- was created by Bibadi long before humans existed. He was a short puny looking pink monster but he was extremely powerful. Bibadi created him to destroy everything and rule the universe, only one thing stood in his way, the Kais. So he sent Buu to kill all of them, Buu began to easily defeat the Kais and started absorbing them one by one, the last Kai he absorbed was and fat jolly. Whenever Buu absorbed someone he would take certain traits from that person, so when Buu absorbed this Kai he became fat and sort of childish. He began toying around and Bibadi grew angry as Buu did not obey him any more, so Bibadi sealed him away inside an egg shell. To prevent Bibadi from resurrecting Buu again the Supreme Kai killed Bibadi, millions of years passed and the threat arose once more as Bibiadi's son Babadi had intentions to carry out his fathers desire. Once the egg shell Buu was kept in gathered enough energy Buu was released. Eventually Buu was defeated by Goku's Spirit Bomb.
 Pan- is the daughter of Gohan and Videl. Granddaughter of Goku. Pan is 1/4 Sayain and 3/4 Human. Basically, she is the most powerful female in Dragonball Z/GT. At a young age, the end of Dragonball-Z, she battled in a martial arts tournament. Although she is 1/4 Sayain, she never transforms Super Sayain. She is very cocky and hates people underestimating her. Pan enjoys adventure a lot. That often gets her into trouble. She is the one that accidentally starts the space ship on it's way to find the Black Star Dragonballs. Being a girl with this much power, Pan finds it hard to find a date.
 Videl- is a human and the daughter of Mr. Satan, and she believes that her father is the strongest person alive. She first meets Gohan at school and finds out that he is the Great Sayaiman. She also ends up being trained by Gohan, and that's the way she learned how to use Ki and Fly. And later into DBZ her and Gohan get married, and they also have a daughter named Pan who plays an important role in GT. After a while with Gohan she realizes that her father is not really the strongest being alive. I can say that Videl changes a lot from the beginning. Videl is much more powerful than her father, but does not believe it in the beginning of her training. She later finds out actually how powerful she is.
